Good to know.

How do I get the best automatic stitch?

Use consecutive screenshots from the same app, in reading order, with a generous area of repeated content between each image. Smart Stitch looks for that overlap. Moving banners, animations, and large blank areas can make a match difficult. Use a vertical arrangement and trim the sources if the automatic join isn't right.

Why does a join look wrong?

Open Sources and check the image order and trims. A screenshot with no matching content cannot be stitched automatically. Try a vertical arrangement for separate sections, or a horizontal arrangement for side-by-side comparisons.

Why are edits reset when I change the sources?

Changing the order, layout, or trimming can move every part of the combined image. Stitchkind asks before resetting crop and markups so a redaction does not accidentally cover the wrong place. Arrange your sources first, then add redactions and annotations. Undo can restore the previous arrangement and edits during the current editing session.

What does “Find private text” do?

It looks for possible email addresses and phone numbers using text recognition on your device. You choose which suggestions to cover. It can miss text or suggest something that is not private, so review the complete export and add manual redactions wherever needed. It does not identify every name, face, address, or account number.

Can someone remove a redaction from the export?

Stitchkind draws solid redactions into the finished image. PNG and JPEG exports are flattened, and PDF exports contain the flattened image. The export does not include editable redaction layers. Your saved project still contains source images so you can edit it later; original images in Photos or Files are also unchanged. Always make the solid cover large enough to hide the entire detail, including edges.

Should I use Redact or Highlight for private text?

Use Redact. Highlight is intentionally translucent so the underlying content stays readable. Arrows and text labels are for explanation, not privacy.

Which export format should I choose?

PNG keeps text and sharp edges crisp. JPEG is useful when a destination needs a smaller image file. PDF is convenient for keeping the result as a document. A PDF export is image-based, so it does not add selectable or searchable text.

Why can a very large image look smaller?

Stitchkind limits source dimensions and the size of the combined canvas to keep editing practical on mobile devices. Imported images are normalized to a maximum edge of 2,600 pixels, and the combined image is limited to 24 megapixels. For very long material, use several shorter projects to preserve readability.

Where are my projects stored?

Projects are saved in Stitchkind's local app storage, including copies of the selected source images. They are not synced through a Stitchkind account or server. Keep exports of anything you need to retain before deleting the app or changing devices.

What happens when I delete a project?

Stitchkind removes that saved project and its source copies from the app. It does not delete your original images from Photos or Files, or copies you have already exported or shared. Temporary export files are cleared when the app next starts.

Why won't an image import or an export save?

Check that the file is a supported image and is available on your device. A Photos or Files item stored only in a cloud service may need to download through that service first. Check available storage, try fewer images, and try saving the export to Files. If saving to Photos was denied, allow it in the device's Settings for Stitchkind.

Do I need an internet connection or a subscription?

Stitchkind's editing and text recognition work offline. There is no account or subscription, and all included tools are available with the app purchase. Your chosen cloud file provider or sharing destination may need its own connection.
